Chocolate custard recipe at home

  • 2 and a half cups heavy whippy cream
  • 1 and a half cup fresh cow milk
  • 3 and a half cup white sugar
  • 2 tsp sugar free dark cocoa powder
  • 1 and a half ounce premium quality dark chocolate (90%), chopped
  • 5 chicken egg yolks
  • 1 and half tsp ground cinnamon, + more for dusting


Step 1

Fresh whisk cream, fresh milk, white sugar, and sugar-free cocoa powder in a saucepan over low heat until mixture is completely mixed and the white sugar is dissolved. 

Take almost a simmer and mix in dark rich chocolate until it gets melted. Whisk chicken egg yolks into the dissolved cream mixture and cook until low heated batter is slightly thickened 2 to 3 minutes. 

Transfer it to a container, cover it, and refrigerate until chilled deeply at least 5 hours.

Step 2

Mix cinnamon into fully chilled custard batter and freeze in an ice cream machine and following manufactured instructions. 

Sprinkle of frozen custard with 6 to 8 cinnamons to serve.
